FACTS shares insights
South Africa's 3rd annual Food Safety Summit, organised by Anelich Consulting and Food Focus, was held virtually on 7 and 8 June 2022.
FACTS had the pleasure of collaborating and participating in a panel discussion on food fraud in South Africa. The panel featured four expert panellists, including FACTS team member Hesrie Steyn, head of the FACTS Food Fraud and Authenticity division. She was joined by Agribiz's Wandile Sihlobo and international speakers Gendel Food Safety's Steven Gendel and FoodChain ID's Karen Everstine.
The panel discussion highlighted the driving factors, challenges and complexities surrounding food fraud opportunities in South Africa, focusing on the many impacts it can have on the industry and its consumers.
