Winds of… August

Dear Property Owner

If you are not a fan of winter, this is not a great month.

And if you dislike wind, especially in Joburg where we have wonderful weather (and that part of the climate is more for our coastal cities), it seems far worse in August.

Anyway, the fact that it is such a cold month, linen, blankets and duvets and staying comfortable are on our mind. An experience that left a permanent mark (for the better) in my world of travels was back in January 2010 at a Delta hotel in Toronto.

Getting into bed was the highlight of my stay. On top of the mattress was what I could only describe as a duvet sewn onto the mattress. Some call it a mattress topper. Or a quilted mattress protector. All I know is, growing up in Bulawayo, I had never heard of, seen or experienced such a delight.

I recently got one and can safely say it is one of the best assets of my life. Call me a wimp, or soft, it has to be one of the best guest experience enhancers there is – and so without much more to add this month, this is my suggestion to all you property owners.
