February is when corporate South Africa kicks into gear. Thank heavens.

January is behind us and there is always an upturn now in car rental, flights and, let’s hope (or believe), guest house accommodation. There might not be the long stays like there was in years gone by, unless you are very fortunate, or located where guests must check in for weeks or months at a time. However, there is business travel.

Tourism in the Cape is still on the rise.

But for those of us who are not in the Cape, let’s just have faith that with service excellence, a quality offering - regardless of where you are pitched in terms of pricing - you will get the business.

Huge growth potential for Africa’s hotel and hospitality sector in 2023

Sixth Hotel & Hospitality Show set for 18 – 20 May 2023 in Johannesburg

Travel and tourism are firmly on the agenda in Africa, according to a new report on the hotel and hospitality sector, which shows a faster post-pandemic recovery than anticipated, strong resilience and immense growth potential.

The 2023 Hotel and Hospitality Industry Confidence Index is a collaborative research report between Moore and dmg events aimed at understanding the trends, challenges and perceptions facing the industry. In putting the report together, participants from 17 African countries in the hotel and hospitality market were surveyed and overall, feel optimistic about the prospects of the sector.
