If you are reading this today, the great thing about having weathered the past, what, fifteen months, is that little surprises one now.
There is just so much out there to shake your head at, in disbelief. So it’s safer just to avoid anything that causes stress and disappointment. In fact, a great friend summed it up – as a lifesaving comment. 'If you lower your expectations, you will not be disappointed. If you get disappointed, your expectations were too high.'
Odd – but true.
As members of this wonderful industry we call the Hospitality Sector, it is hard for us to do anything other than deliver to a high standard. And I am not suggesting we deliver anything short of excellence, it’s what we want to do for you all – but this mantra does help us (me certainly) navigate this path of frustration as we keep looking for that bright sunshine on the horizon.
Next week we are over the official halfway mark of winter – so that is wonderful!
Forward we go. Have a great rest of June.
Regards,
Richard Lendrum
