Spring is Here!

There is so much to easily drag us all through the door of despondency; load shedding, cost of living, crime, and climate change are just a few of the problems we face. 

But I want to keep focusing on all there is to benefit us:

• The best rains in years 
• Spring flowers 
• Rugby 
• Whales 
• International tourism season starting 

But the biggest win is an emerging class of spenders – who love some glitz. Be it weekend treats, getaways from their wives, or afternoons with their lovers. I know the latter is something so many deplore, but like it or not, we are in an industry that is part of this. If you are in the minority to be able to screen every guest, you are very lucky. If not, I say, think of the reason you are in business, as a guest house owner. 

Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action by Simon Sinek is a great book for guest house owners. It helps you think and differentiate WHY you do what you do. After that comes the HOW you do what you do, which too,+ should help you then think about WHAT you do…
There is lots to be grateful for if you are here in September reading this and preparing for hopefully the busiest time of the year.
